Unplugged: A Montana Women’s Retreat
A quiet nervous system reset for women who are tired of being needed. Located on 100 acres of off-leash dog-friendly wilderness near Missoula, Montana.
This is not a retreat to fix yourself
It’s a place to arrive exactly as you are.
The forest is already quiet. The cabins are already waiting. Nothing here asks you to perform, explain, or keep up.
You are not here to learn more. You are here to rest.
The Invitation
Unplugged is a women-only weekend held on 100 forested acres near Missoula, Montana.
It was created for women who are burned out, overstimulated, creatively depleted, or quietly longing for time where no one needs anything from them.
Mothers. Creatives. Caregivers. Women who hold a lot.
This is a space to set the weight down.
What Happens Here
Very little — by design.
There is no rigid schedule. No mandatory sharing. No fixing circles.
Instead, you’ll find:
Long, unscheduled hours
Quiet forest walks
Time to journal, nap, or stare out a window
Optional evening circles, gently held
Mornings that begin slowly
Evenings that end early
You choose how much you participate. Silence is always an option.
About the Space
You’ll stay in a hand-built glamping cabin in the woods.
Each cabin is intentionally simple, warm, and imperfect — shaped by real hands, not mass production.
The land is quiet. The nights are dark. The hot tub is tucked beneath the pines.
The Hohnstead is located just 25 minutes from Missoula, Montana (and the KettleHouse Amphitheater) — secluded enough to disappear, close enough to arrive easily.
A Note About Phones
There is no expectation to be reachable here.
Many guests find their phones naturally become less interesting. You’re welcome to follow that impulse — or not.
Nothing here requires your attention.

about your hosts
From the Classroom to the Cabin
For over a decade, we were university teachers in South Korea, navigating the "always-on" world of academia. But every summer since 2010, we traded our pens for hammers to build a different kind of life.
Working two months at a time, we hand-built The Hohnstead from the ground up. What began as bare land is now a one-of-a-kind sanctuary shaped by our own hands, a lot of sawdust, and a deep belief in the power of peace and quiet. We didn’t just build a resort; we built the stillness we were looking for ourselves.
Now, we’ve left the classroom behind to host those ready to trade their screens for the stars. We can't wait to share the quiet with you.

The Investment & Transparency
At The Hohnstead, we believe the path to silence shouldn't be cluttered with fine print. Our pricing is as clear and grounded as the Montana landscape.
$550 per cabin
Returning Hohnstead Guest? Take 10% off $495 per cabin
This is the total cost for the full weekend (Friday 5/29/26 to Sunday 5/31/26). Whether you choose to disappear into the solitude of a cabin all your own or bring a close friend to split the cost, the price remains the same.
The Sanctuary: You have the choice to book one of our hand-crafted cabins entirely for yourself for maximum solitude.
The Shared Option: If you’d like to bring a close friend or sister/mother to share the Queen bed (The Ranch Hand Cabin, The Stargazer, The Shed) or claim the single bed (The A-frame Cabin or the Blind) and split the cost between you, you are more than welcome to—the price remains the same.
The "Zero" List: $0 Cleaning Fees. $0 Pet Fees. $0 Hidden Surcharges.
To keep our process as quiet as our woods, we require payment in full to secure your reservation.
A Note on Nourishment One of the best ways to unplug is to reconnect with the simple rhythm of preparing your own food. We provide the "morning spark"—local coffee, teas, and light pastries and fruits in The Commons Area —and you provide the rest. Our community kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prep your favorites, and we’ll send you a list of our favorite local Missoula markets and stores once you’ve joined the list.
Cancellation & Peace of Mind
Because we only have five cabins and this is a limited, intimate event, we ask that you be sure of your "yes." Reservations are non-refundable within 30 days of the retreat. Should you need to cancel before that window, we will provide a refund minus a $50 administration fee to cover the digital processing.
