Built Slowly, Over Time
More than fifteen years ago, The Hohnstead began as off-grid forest land outside Missoula.
We built each cabin ourselves, board by board, with lots of polycarbonate walls and windows (for stargazing). Before all of this, we were university teachers living in South Korea with zero construction experience or plans to change careers.
What started as a dream for a quieter life became a place where others could experience that quiet, too.
