The Blind: A Mountain Lookout for Stargazers
The Soul of the Cabin
Perched with views toward Sheep Mountain, The Blind was built for guests who believe the best room in any cabin is the view outside.
This hand-built micro-cabin was intentionally positioned to capture Montana's changing skies, forested landscape, and distant mountain peaks. At the heart of the experience is a mechanical stargazing wall that opens your bedside directly to the outdoors, allowing you to watch the stars emerge without ever leaving your bed.
Small in size but expansive in feeling, The Blind invites you to slow down, look farther, and spend a few days living with less. Whether you're watching morning light move across the mountains or listening to the forest settle in for the evening, this cabin was designed to help you feel part of the landscape rather than separate from it.

Our guest reviews
A gem in the mountains
I had the most wonderful stay at the Hohnstead. The property is breathtaking and there was something truly magical about spending a weekend here reconnecting with myself in nature. The cabin was absolutely adorable and perfect for someone who wants to convene with nature while also having a (very comfortable) bed and access to basic amenities.

You can’t beat waking up to this gorgeous scenery. The off grid cabins are just as cute in real life as they are in the photos. The hosts are so accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. Loved our stay.
