Evolving with the Land
Our Scavenger Hunt has retired to make room for deeper, quieter rhythms.
If you’re looking to engage with the land during your stay, ask us about The Montana Gym or Traditional Archery—personal, host-led moments available upon request.

The archer’s meditation
Traditional archery is a practice of quietude and presence, perfectly aligned with a commitment to stillness. Unlike the fast-paced distractions of the modern world, the bow requires a steady hand, rhythmic breathing, and a clear mind. As you draw the string, the world narrows down to a single point of focus, turning a physical skill into a moving meditation. This is a personal invitation we offer to our guests free of charge. We usually spend about an hour or less together, leaving you plenty of time to return to the stillness of your cabin.
We invite you to trade the digital world for the weight of the maul and the rhythmic swing of an axe. Splitting wood is more than a chore; it is a physical meditation that clears the mind and, at times, a necessary, rage-releasing workout that builds the spirit.
While we handle the heavy lifting (of cutting down the trees and drying and preparing the rounds for splitting), we truly appreciate it when guests choose to join in the effort. We’re happy to host you for a quick session (usually about an hour) at no cost—just an honest exchange of energy, a meaningful way to connect with the land and contribute to the warmth of the homestead.
The Mountain Gym
These moments are hosted by us personally when the rhythms of the woods and our small business allow. Please reach out during your stay if you’d like to join us.
